Hamilton has a warm-up coming its way, so enjoy the snow today while it lasts. Come this weekend, it probably won't be there anymore.
It feels like -21 C with the wind chill to start your Thursday. To be honest, it feels pretty warm comparatively. And the temperature will warm up later today. Expect some sunshine.
A reminder for students at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School: you get another day away from the classroom. The school is still closed for clean up and repair after a heating pipe burst earlier in the week.

QEW Toronto-bound: A collision just after the off-ramp to Third Line in Burlington in the right shoulder.
Update at 8:45 a.m.:
A collision in the left shoulder 403 EB at Waterdown.

No new collision to report, but traffic is still really slow from Erin Mills Parkway into Toronto.
The 403 EB in Ancaster from Highway 6 South all the way past the Linc is moving very slow this half-hour. It lightens a bit near York Blvd., but not by much.

Two new collisions on the highways you should know about:
On the QEW Fort Erie-bound just before Bronte Road, two cars involved in a collision are moving off the road. No injuries there.
On the 403 EB right before highway 6, two cars are off in the right shoulder. No injuries there either.
Traffic on the QEW Toronto-bound at Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga is really starting to tighten up. Expect a slow down there.
The 403 EB right at the York Blvd. on-ramp is looking very backed up. Again, expect a slow ride entering the highway there.
In town, the access routes are not as clogged as they were half an hour ago.
No major traffic in town so far.
At 7:30 a.m.:
Local highways are moving well so far.
In town, the West 5th access down into the lower city and onto James Street is already a bit backed up to Main Street.
The base of the Jolley Cut onto John Street is also a bit slow and the Sherman Cut is starting to clog, too. Best bet down into the lower city is the Queen Street Hill right now.
No issues to report on GO Transit, but if you're expecting a passenger from the 47-York University to Hamilton trip, expect them to arrive at 8:15 a.m. rather than 7:35 a.m. That's due to a mechanical issue on the bus.
It's -15 C degrees outside, and feels like -21 C with the wind chill. Pretty hard to believe when I tell you what to expect later on today and over the weekend.
The high for today is -8 C and sunny, so we'll kick that wind chill factor out the window. Tonight, we might see some light snowfall. Expect the temperature to rise to -3 C by the morning. That means the city's cold alert should be called off today.
Friday is the start of some very warm temperatures for this time of year. A high of 2 C tomorrow, leading up to 7 C (that's right. PLUS 7 C) on Saturday.
A big party is coming to Hamilton in 2015. The city will host the Juno Awards next year, on Mar. 15, 2015 at Copps Colliseum.
It's the sixth time the 'Grey Cup' of Canadian music will happen in Hamilton. Previous visits include 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2001.
A dog that was being kept outside during some of the coldest nights in Hamilton's history has been taken from the business where he was chained by good Samaritans concerned about its welfare.
The story of Tiger, a Portuguese Fila guard dog that was being kept outside with wind chill temperatures plummeting to -38 C erupted over social media Tuesday.
Repeated requests to speak to the dog's owner, a man named Milton, were not returned. A woman who answered the owner's cell phone Wednesday afternoon confirmed the dog had been taken overnight, and they were "trying to track him down."
The person who took Tiger from the property wouldn't consent to a formal interview with CBC News because of worries over legal action. In a statement, the person would only say that Tiger is safe and warm.
