The weather outside may be frightful, and your holiday party calendar might be full already, but if not, there's plenty of things to do in Hamilton this weekend.
A very Victorian Christmas
The Garden Club of Hamilton has decked the halls of Dundurn Castle with cedar boughs, ribbons and dried flowers for the holidays. You can check out the historic site by day from 12-4 p.m., or on weekend evening's from 7-9 p.m.
The special evening viewings are $25 per person, and pre-registration is required. Regular admission rates apply to daytime visits.
Free soup kitchen
The Divine Light Awakening Centre is opening a soup kitchen for lunch on Saturday at its 1441 Barton St. E. headquarters.
You can stop by to eat, or if you'd like to volunteer or donate get in touch with the Centre at 905-545-9178 or by email at info@divinelighthamilton.com.
Rock for Christmas
Sonic Unyon is throwing a Christmas party with a rare live performance by Tristan Psionic, the indie band that founded the Hamilton record label. Label-mates Sensei, SIANspheric, Kestrel and WTCHS.
The party gets going on Friday night at This Ain't Hollywood, 345 James St. N. Admission is $5 or a non-perishable food item, with all proceeds going to the Good Shepherd of Hamilton.
Sound of Music at Theatre Aquarius
Performances of the Rogers and Hammerstein classic run until Jan. 4. If you don't have a free weekend evening to catch the show, you can go to a 2 p.m. matinee on Dec. 23, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

5th Annual JR Digs Acoustic Christmas
It's sold out, but in case you can snag a ticket this concert should be a delight. Max Kerman of the Arkells, Tom Wilson of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and The Dinner Belles will join @JRDiGS himself at The Casbah.
The charity event for Ronald McDonald House is $35 plus tax. The show kicks off on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
