Schuyler Six, the 8-year-old boy killed last weekend at a Hamilton industrial site, is set to be laid to rest Friday.

Six died on Dec. 15 when he was struck by a falling piece of steel. It's believed he was with his father, Chris, at the time of the incident, which took place around 1:45 p.m. at Millwrights Inc., on Imperial St. near Sherman Ave. N.

A non-criminal investigation into Six's death by the Ontario Ministry of Labour is ongoing, a spokesperson said on Thursday. The ministry did not release any more information about the investigation, nor would it say when a conclusion is likely.

"We take as much time as necessary to investigate thoroughly," said Ministry of Labour Bruce Skeaff.

"We don't place speed over thoroughness."

A funeral service for Six is set for Friday morning. The boy's family is asking that in lieu of flowers, well-wishers donate an unwrapped toy to the Good Shepherd in Six's memory.
