Hamilton has another stormy weekend ahead, Environment Canada warned on Tuesday.

A weather system moving up from Texas is set to collide with a "sharp front" in southern Ontario, which could lead to rain, freezing rain, ice pellets or snow beginning on Thursday and continuing throughout the weekend.

Environment Canada warned Sunday may be the worst day, as a storm system fuelled by gulf moisture collides with the cold front. This collision could cause "significant snowfall accumulations," Environment Canada said.

The severity of the storms will be dictated by the paths of the weather systems. Environment Canada said there is still uncertainty regarding the weekend forecast, but advised Hamiltonians to keep a close eye on the weather in the coming days.

There are currently no storm watches or warnings in Hamilton, though light snow is expected to fall throughout Tuesday's rush hour.

There's a 40 per cent chance of flurries on Wednesday, with the temperature around -5 C.
