Monday is Remembrance Day. To mark the occasion, the city is hosting a series of ceremonies, many at outdoor cenotaphs across Hamilton.

Here's a list of official Remembrance Day services in Hamilton:

  • Downtown Hamilton — Cenotaph in Gore Park (King Street East between James and John streets) at 10:45 a.m.
  • Ancaster — Cenotaph at the Old Town Hall (310 Wilson Street E., Ancaster) at 10:30 a.m.
  • Dundas — Cenotaph at the Dundas Community Centre (10 Market St., Dundas) at 10:30 a.m.
    • The city says the Royal Canadian Legion is holding a Dundas Remembrance Day parade. The procession will begin at the Dundas fire hall (19 Memorial Square) at 10:30 a.m. and will head north on King Street to the cenotaph, where the ceremony will occur.

  • Mount Hope — Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, (9280 Airport Rd., Mount Hope) at 10:30 a.m.
  • Stoney Creek — Stoney Creek Cenotaph, (King Street and Highway 8, Stoney Creek) at 10:45 a.m.
    • The city says the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a Remembrance Day parade in Stoney Creek. The procession will leave the parking lot of Sir Frances Xavier Church (304 Highway 8) at 10:30 a.m. and will proceed to the cenotaph, where a short memorial service will take place.
  • Waterdown — Royal Canadian Legion Branch 551 (79 Hamilton Street North, Waterdown) at 10:45 a.m.
  • Hamilton Mountain — Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163 (435 Limeridge Road E.) at 10:30 a.m.

On Sunday, hundreds of veterans, cadets and active service men and women participated in Hamilton's annual Veterans Parade. They marched from the John Foote V.C. Armouries on James Street North to Gore Park for a memorial service.
