Thanksgiving weekend in Hamilton will feature its fair share of fall-themed festivities, including lots to do for those who don't celebrate the holiday. (Add that to your list of things for which to be thankful.)

Here's a list of things to do in Hamilton from Oct. 11 to 14.

Rockton World's Fair

It's Thanksgiving, meaning it's time for the Rockton World's Fair. Now in its 161st year, the festival boasts a demolition derby, midway rides and a spelling be, as well as more traditional fall fair fixtures, such pumpkin competition, a pie-making contest and horse-riding shows.

The fair, located at the Rockton Fairground (812 Old Highway 8, Rockton) runs from Friday to Monday. Tickets for a day's admission cost $13 for adults, $5 for children aged six to 15. Weekend passes are available, and cost $40 for adults and $10 for youth aged six to 15. Children five and under get in free. Parking is included in the price of admission.

Cranksgiving bicycle food drive

Part bike race, part food drive, part Thanksgiving-themed scavenger hunt, Cranksgiving hits Hamilton on Saturday. Participants in the charity race are asked to bring $20 and, riding on their bikes, stop at series of groceries stores in central Hamilton to pick up items on a grocery list. The winners of the races — there will be a 10 km beginner and 25 km advanced routes — will be awarded prizes.

The food items will be donated to the Welcome Inn Community Centre.

Registration for the event opens at 1 p.m. at Gore Park and the races start at 2 p.m.

For Ticat devotees who are still reeling from the lack of a Labour Day Classic the team's 2013 calendar, Monday's game may help lift your spirits. The Tabbies are playing division rivals the Toronto Argonauts at the University of Guelph's Alumni Stadium on Monday at 4:30 p.m. (It's the Argos, it's a holiday Monday and it's a home game — call it The Thanksgiving Classic!)

Operation: Impact

Hamilton police remind drivers to buckle up this holiday weekend. During its Operation: Impact traffic safety blitz, officers will be checking to see whether car occupants are using their seatbelts.

The police remind the public that not wearing a seatbelt can result in a $240 fine and the loss of two demerit points for a vehicle's driver.
