Police are searching for a man they believe is responsible for a series of assaults in the east end of the city.

The assaults — two of which were sexual — came against women near Quigley Road. The attacks happened in mid October between 8 and 9 p.m.

Here's what happened, according to police:

  • On Wednesday, Oct. 9 around 9 p.m., a 55-year-old woman was walking on St. Andrews Drive when a man sexually assaulted her. He then ran off.
  • On Friday, Oct. 11 around 9 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was walking in the area of Greenhill Road and Quigley Road when a man assaulted her before running away.
  • On Saturday, Oct. 12 around 8:30 p.m., a 55-year-old woman was walking in the area of Greenhill Road and Quigley Road when a man assaulted her and then ran off.
  • On Tuesday, around 9 p.m., a 31-year-old woman was walking in the area of Greenhill Road and Quigley Road when a man sexually assaulted her. He then ran off.

The same man also attempted to approach a 15-year-old teen on Oct. 9, but a neighbour saw him and he ran off, police say. No assault took place.

Police describe the man as white, with possible facial scarring and "leathery" skin. He was wearing a black hoodie and track pants. He walks with a limp, police say.

Any victims or witnesses to these assaults are asked to call police at 905-540-5543.
