Provincial police say a former Metrolinx senior manager is facing corruption-related charges.

It's alleged the 47-year-old used his position to facilitate the hiring of contract services while receiving secret commissions.

The alleged offences occurred between July 2006 and October 2007.

Ashish Deb of Toronto is charged with four counts of secret commissions, and four counts of breach of trust.

Deb is scheduled to appear in court in Toronto on Nov. 4.

Metrolinx is a provincial government agency responsible for improving the co-ordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
