A Hamilton woman managed to foil a purse-snatching in downtown Hamilton Tuesday night.
Around 10:45 p.m., a woman was walking in the area of King Street East and Victoria Avenue when she saw a group of four to five men on the south side of King.
One of the men rode over to her on a BMX bike and attempted to snatch her purse from her shoulder and grab her cell phone, police say.
The woman kicked the man and he fell off of his bike onto the ground. He jumped up, picked up the bike and ran off empty-handed westbound on King Street. He was last seen turning northbound onto Victoria Avenue, police say.
The 28-year-old victim did not suffer any injuries. Police are still investigating
