An 80-year-old man has died in hospital after a car hit him while he was riding his bike.

The collision happened around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, when a late-model Lexus hit the cyclist on Osler Drive in Dundas.

The victim was transported to hospital. He died of his injuries at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. It was Hamilton's seventh traffic fatality of the year.

The vehicle's driver, an 80-year-old Dundas man, has been charged with careless driving in connection with the incident.
