Woman stabbed in Hamilton's east end

Police have arrested a woman after she sent another woman to hospital with knife wounds in the east end of Hamilton early Sunday.

Around 1:45 a.m., police were called about a stabbing at Main Street East around Gage Avenue South.

Police say a woman had slashed another woman's arms with a knife.

Police say the women know each other. The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 37-year-old Hamilton woman has been charged with assault and assault with a weapon.
